Artwork – Mixed Media, Vinyl Artwork Updates

Check out the latest updates on the vinyl series, artwork, concepts and lab work in progress over at X, @salleecreates.

It has been a few weeks since my last post, specifically providing an update on  artwork or work in progress. I have posted more “work in progress” or lab work on x.com. This series is a start, initial look or study on vinyl records. The shape, colors, shadows/highlights, and more. Look for more of this work online, shared via x. It’s been many months in the making, if you go back in my timeline, you will see the foundational sketches and illustration on the subject. As well as other items, 3d prints, troubleshooting prints, paintings and tech work.

My goal is to turn these unique vinyl concepts into a regular series. Multi-print or painting series (my goal would include 10 or more concepts), tones or more.  At least, a more prominent subject matter covered online and share via social media. Although vinyl records, or the vinyl medium has been long gone for me,(for the majority of us) or the average listener, there are those who still collect vinyl. Those who cherish the cover art, sound, sound quality found when listening to vinyl. I may, at some point, add record players to the mix. Or the old sound card or roller based music machines. But, for now, vinyl records it is.

The plan, I want to stick to the 4 or 5 colors used in the initial conceptual phase – red med. cadmium, mars black, white, unbleached titanium and light grey. Pens are used for both structure and under painting, Bic pens to be exact (red and blue). Also, I plan to simplify where it makes sense, maybe doing some monochromatic, duotones and tritones.

Staying with a blue, grey and black color scheme. You’ll see a little more of this color scheme (blue, grey, and black) on my x timeline. Check out the latest, @salleecreates. Additionally, you’ll find a series on horses, ferris wheels, XB-70 Valkyrie engines and rockets. Or, perhaps the red cadmium and brilliant blue. However, an orange and brilliant blue may make it into the fold as well. Some may just stay in pen and ink as well. More to come. So, that’s what I have for this vinyl series update for now.

Takeaway, I will occasionally recap and share those items here on the website, highlighting new illustrations including medical, human form, animals, landscape, biologics, life energy, and more. This includes sketches, under paintings, illustrations, prep-work, 3D prints, 3D illustrations, 3D lines and more. So, check those out!

In this post, you can check out what’s currently in progress. I have shared several updates on the vinyl series, human forms, hero study, further exploration into the Mondrian Study, under paintings and more. Please note, I’ve posted numerous sketches, paintings, ideas and lab work on X. Check out my work, stay up to date on the latest updates, illustration and more there. Rockets, jets, farm equipment, theory and more.

Keep track of what’s going on, what’s on the bench. You can follow along, have look over my other pieces, completed artwork, studies and mixed-media projects.

Currently, I am focusing my energy on around 40 smaller pieces. These are also shared in the X timeline, @salleecreates: Mondrian, Marvel Likeness, Human Forms, Energy, Landscapes and more. You can view my previous artwork update on Twitter here.

The Mondrian inspired series has come along way, still a lot of work to be done. The series covers cityscapes, ancient watercraft, waterscapes, ferris wheels, animals, items around the house, humans in motion and architecture. Very cool, low fidelity concepts utilizing a similar, simple color palette.

More than half remain unpainted (this will change overtime), I’ll be updating those more frequently sometime later in the year. Some topics or subjects on the horizon, adding XB-70 Valkyrie, ferris wheels, architecture, human anatomy, retro space ideas, SpaceX rockets, horses and more to the list of subjects.

So that my work is shared, those will be reposted here on the site, carried over from X. Reminder, X is being utilized as my weekly updates, or dynamic posts per se. The goal is to drive interested parties to the website for more information, services and contact details. Enjoy!

Finally, stay tuned. In the meantime, feel free to follow my work online @salleecreates on X.com. Take a look, and follow me if you’d like. Cheers!
